A remarkable note from Dr. Pyi Phyo Kyaw (BA Oxon, MA SOAS, PhD King’s College London) Curriculum Development Committee, Shan State Buddhist University said that “for me, Sayagyi’s lecture was very inspirational, raising crucial ideas and concepts in order to not only transform Higher Education in Myanmar from teacher-centred teaching and learning to student-centred teaching and learning, but also promote research and output (i.e. publishing) culture among academic staff. Of course, Sayadawgyi U Dhammasami, has emphasised these aspects—i.e. student-centred teaching, research and producing research output—from the outset. Sayagyi U Aung Tun Thet has also emphasised the need to have professional development, which we have been doing at SSBU since 2015. Therefore, I personally find Sayagyi’s lecture very encouraging and quite reassuring”.
